Understanding Ethereum

Ethereum is both a network ecosystem and the name commonly used when discussing its native asset. Tokens with similar names can exist on different networks.

What to check on the payment screen

Identify the exact asset and network before any transfer. A receiving service must support both; a matching token symbol is not enough.

Deposits and withdrawals are different

For an Ethereum-related transfer, distinguish the network from the asset being sent. The recipient's instructions need to support both. A token balance shown in a wallet does not establish that every receiving service accepts that token on every available network.

Keep a clear record

A public transaction hash helps identify a transfer; a recovery phrase does not belong in the enquiry. Include the relevant asset and network when discussing a missing credit so support can distinguish a network transaction from an internal account adjustment.
