Understanding Bank transfer

Bank transfers depend on the sending and receiving institutions, the payment scheme and the account details provided. Processing times should not be inferred from a general bank logo.

What to check on the payment screen

Verify the account name and reference requirements. Ask your bank about an unclear payment status before attempting a duplicate transfer.

Deposits and withdrawals are different

A bank-wire instruction may require a reference in addition to the beneficiary details. Copy the current instructions carefully and establish which currency is expected. The sending bank's debit and the receiving account's reconciliation are separate events to follow.

Keep a clear record

If a wire has not appeared, request a trace using the bank's documented support process. Retain the transfer confirmation and the beneficiary details used at the time. Repeating a wire does not resolve the status of the original transfer.
